Library Implements New Authentication System

ACC students and employees have access to thousands of subscription resources free of charge.
Currently ACC enrolled students and ACC employees are eligible to use the Library subscription online resources - databases, eBooks, full-text articles, streaming video. You are prompted to login with your ACCeID and password.

ACC Libraries have an incredibly strong and robust digital library that supports the curriculum and research needs of our students, classroom faculty, and staff and is available 24/7.

Every e-resource in the library collection (ebook, streaming video, journal article, image) requires authentication in order to verify whether a user is affiliated with ACC and should be granted access to licensed and copyright-protected materials.
ACC Library Services uses a program called OpenAthens to interact with the College's login system (Okta) to verify that you are eligible to use these digital resources.
What is OpenAthens?
ACC Libraries use OpenAthens to authenticate our users. OpenAthens is SAML, cloud-based, and importantly, is single sign-on compatible. OpenAthens works with Okta so that an ACC user who has already logged via that system will not have to login again to access library resources.

Some questions you may have:

  • Q: What are my login credentials?
    • A: Login with your ACCeid and password. Don't know your ACCeid or password? Find it here.
  • Q: If I change my password, how long is the delay before I am authenticated?
    • A: It takes anywhere from 1 - 2 hours for the new password to be updated in the system.
  • Q: If I am already signed into Blackboard, do I have to sign in again to library resources?
    • A: No. Once you have authenticated via another ACC service such as Blackboard or ACCmail, you will not be prompted again to login to library e-resources.
